Chestnut Square Recognized Among the Nation’s Best in Senior Living

Chestnut Square at The Glen, a non-profit affiliate of Bethany Methodist, is proud to announce that we’ve earned national recognition from U.S. News & World Report, being named among the 2026 Best Senior Living communities for Independent Living and receiving the “accolades” distinction in the “Activities and Enrichment” and “Feels Like Home” categories.
“The moment I joined this organization 19 years ago, I knew Chestnut Square was a truly special place, and that feeling of gratitude has only grown stronger with time,” shared Vera Lampe, CEO. “This incredible recognition reinforces what I witness every day—a thriving community full of residents and team members who bring out the best in one another.”
U.S. News Best Senior Living Awards are based on more than 540,000 resident and family surveys across more than 3,000 communities nationwide, making them one of the most credible resources for comparing senior living options.
The survey evaluates communities through several key areas, including care, community management, staff, dining, activities, safety, and overall satisfaction.
“Choosing a senior living community is a significant life decision for older adults and their families. U.S. News' Best Senior Living ratings provide a transparent, data-driven tool to help families identify the highest-quality care available,” said Ben Harder, managing editor and chief of health analysis at U.S. News. “We commend the communities that have earned this distinction, which reflects a deep commitment to resident well-being and exceptional service.”
By 2030, one in five Americans will be of retirement age, rapidly increasing the demand for quality senior living. It marks a new era in senior living, and we are proud to be among the communities redefining what retirement living can look and feel like.
